Gluteus Maximus Lurch / Inferior Gluteal Nerve
January 13, 2012
This is a demonstration of Gluteus Maximus Lurch. This will typically be seen with an injury to the gluteus maximus muscle or lesion to the inferior gluteal nerve (L5-S2). You will see limited hip extension during heel strike of the effected side. This will be compensated by trunk hyperextension. This will limit hip extension and avoid pain for the patient. This video representation will be an EXAGGERATED movement.
